Oops I should start working on Hanbei’s weapon again. And I need to properly start on Motochika’s shamisen. asjfdkaj I still have the shamisen I made for physics and I’m wondering if I can build off that one… maybe i should just restart. Masamune’s swords need proper sheaths and I’ve just started on Ieyasu’s armguard things. I only have ONE completed prop that looks nice SOB. I’m spamming the tags again, aren’t I… OOPS

Can’t really calm down right now. Have some Basara eyepatches, my favourite kind of eyepatches.

Date Masamune’s Swords // Sengoku Basara
I swear the hardest thing in the world is attempting to take a picture of yourself holding six swords Basara Masamune style. I gave up on that and had my sister help me afterwards. One day I will be able to hold them properly. Bonus pictures of swords with my current favourite non-electronic thing in the world; my Date Masamune Basara bandanna.
Swords are done; shealths still need to be sewed.

Technically this isn’t a photoset of swords, but a photoset of tsukas (hilts). I’m finally at the point where I can confidently say that I am almost done! Hooray! This will probably be the 3rd last or 2nd last photoset of these things. I bet you’re tired of seeing all these photos.

Part 2 of my gaiaonline art adventures.
While browsing through the Art freebies forum, I had a little shock as I found a thread that had a Sengoku Basara reference as a title. NEEDLESS to say, I went and clicked on it and found the OP requesting art of their avatar, which was dressed as Date Masamune. I decided right there and then that I needed to draw it and then I went overboard. (I only meant to do a headshot oops).
THAT WAS MY EVENTFUL AND UNPRODUCTIVE DAY. I planned to work on props………

At the 80% mark now, I believe! Foam blades were sanded down one last time, then primed with diluted white glue. They were then painted! I also drilled some holes into the blades, handles, and the connection pieces so that they can be secured better with toothpicks. I started on the Habakis.
Things I still need to buy: 4-6 rolls of white ribbon.

Pic spam over two days; it’s not really exciting to take pictures of stages of sanding, especially when the difference is not noticeable at times. There is still one more sanding stage to do before the shape of the blades are done. And then it is priming and painting of the blades. weh

Handles are basically done. I just have to tie ribbons on them. This tutorial is what I’m using as reference. I’ve marked and roughly tapered one portion of the blades.
I’ve been marathoning anime again today while working on this; I watched 5 cm per Second, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and House of Five Leaves. All good in their own aspects.

Basically worked on this all day; the tsubas are done save for a coat of varnish. Getting paint into all the nooks and crannies was annoying. Going to paper mache the handles. I took a bunch of pictures today, so there’s progression in this set. I actually kept taking pictures because I kept telling myself that I was going to stop working and then play games, but I didn’t.
